Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you name your product "Crapola"?

When you add the first two letters of the word "cranberry", the first two letters of the word "apple", and the last three letters of the word "granola", you get "Crapola"!  Genius, isn't it?

I understand the play on words, but I still think it's offensive.

We aren't out to offend you.  We're just having a little fun with the marketing of our products.  The majority of our customers seem to enjoy our quirky brand of humor.  If you're easily offended, you should maybe buy another brand of granola and, whatever you do, don't click HERE.

Does Crapola need to be cooked?  How do I eat it?

Crapola is intended to be a cold cereal, and it's ready to eat right out of the bag.  Just add milk and enjoy.  Lots of folks tell us they like our granola with yogurt and/or fresh fruit.  Some of our adventurous customers occasionally tell us about creative ways they have prepared Crapola as a hot cereal, or incorporated it into other recipes.  There are no rules.

Can you make more flavors?  Do you make granola bars?

Our production ability is limited by the size of our modest facility, and we currently have our hands full with the products we already make.  We really wish we could accomodate everyone's dietary needs, and we do plan on expanding our offerings in the future.  Our third flavor is in the works right now.  Patience, grasshopper....

 Where do babies come from?

Go ask your mother.

Some of the oats in my Crapola have a blue-colored tint.  Is that mold?

NO!  Those are rye flakes (remember, there are five different whole grains in Crapola) and that is their natural color.

Your package says that Crapola "makes even weird people regular".  How much should I eat?

Crapola is not medicine, and it's not a dietary supplement.  You can eat it just like any other cereal.  Don't be afraid of the name.  Crapola is simply a good source of fiber, which is an important component in a healthy diet.  If you would like to learn more about dietary fiber, we recommend this link:  http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fiber/NU00033 .

The recommended serving size of Crapola is 1/2 cup.  That's a good place to start.  Our dog once ate an entire bag and he lived happily ever after (by the way, fiber makes even dogs regular, too).

I have a store that would like to sell your product.  Do you wholesale?

Wholesale inquiries welcome!  Call 218-235-1058 or email brian@crapola.us to discuss details.

Where can I find the nutrition information for your granola?

At the bottom of our web page, click the "Ingredients" tab for nutrition info.

Is your packaging recyclable or biodegradable?

Unfortunately, our packaging can not be recycled.  This is a very important issue for us, and we take it seriously.  Given the volume of packaging that our business uses, we consider it a top priority to make the transition to packaging that is environmentally responsible once the technology is available, affordable, and effective.

Why is your granola so expensive?

Despite the funny brand name, we're very serious about the quality of our products.  We make artisan-quality granola.  Our price reflects the use of premium ingredients and small batch production.
